Moy Bracken to share insights on patient reach at the EFGCP Better Medicines for Children Conference

Moy Bracken, Research Unit Manager at the Access to Medicine Foundation, has been invited to speak at the EFGCP Better Medicines for Children Conference 2024. The meeting will provide a forum to discuss how access- to- medicine strategies in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) can be leveraged to improve patient reach of paediatric medicines.

Date

23 October 2024

Location

Brussels, Belgium

The European Forum for Good Clinical Practice (EFGCP) will be hosting its annual Better Medicines for Children conference in Brussels in October 2024, where global leaders in the paediatric medicine development space will be in attendance.

In addition to discussing issues in Europe, this year’s event will also focus on key access-to-medicine issues faced in LMICs and how strategies for improving access in these countries can be applied to the distribution of paediatric medicines.

Moy will serve as a panelist for the “Pathways to medicines in LMICs” session on the second day of the event. At the roundtable, she plans to share the findings from the Foundation’s new report, launched on 10 September 2024, which looks at pharmaceutical companies’ strategies for improving patient reach of essential medicines.

About the roundtable

The session will be moderated by Martina Penazzato, team lead for the World Health Organization’s Research for Health Department, Science Division and Rhian Thomas-Turner, Research & Development lead at Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales.

Moy joins other experts on the panel, including:

  • Emmanuella Amoako, Director of Clinical Affairs at Yemaachi Biotech

  • Lenias Hwenda, CEO of the Medicines for Africa Foundation
