Moy Bracken to share insights on 2024 Access to Medicine Index at the Global Cancer Movement

The Global Cancer Movement will host a virtual event themed “Challenging the Status Quo in Colorectal Cancer”. This gathering will bring together global experts to examine the current state of colorectal cancer worldwide and explore ways to drive innovation in care and treatment. Moy Bracken, Research Unit Manager at the Access to Medicine Foundation, will attend to contribute insights on pharma companies’ efforts to improve access to essential healthcare products in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Each year, around 20 million people are diagnosed with cancer, with numbers expected to rise significantly by 2050. Despite this, many patients, especially in LMICs, lack access to quality care. In response, the Global Cancer Movement will host its inaugural event, a three-day virtual conference under the theme “Challenging the Status Quo in Colorectal Cancer”. This event will bring together experts from across the industry to explore innovative solutions for improving care, focusing on advancements in treatment, early detection, and equitable access to therapy.

Representing the Foundation, Moy will participate in the session titled “The Global Landscape of Colorectal Cancer” on the first day of the event. She will deliver a presentation on “The Role of the Pharmaceutical Industry in Providing Access to Medicine in Low- and Middle-Income Countries”, highlighting key findings from the newly released 2024 Access to Medicine Index. Drawing from the detailed analysis of 20 of the world’s largest pharma companies, Moy will share actionable insights on developing scalable, sustainable solutions to ensure long-term access to essential healthcare products. She will also introduce fellow attendees to the Foundation’s work, sharing its impact and contribution in the global health space.
