Marijn Verhoef to guest lecture at Utrecht University on driving change in global healthcare

The Access to Medicine Foundation’s Director of Operations and Research, Marijn Verhoef, has been invited to guest lecture during the University of Utrecht’s 2023 summer course on Pharmaceutical Policy Analysis. He will be sharing insights on how the Foundation works to mobilise healthcare companies, and engages with global healthcare stakeholders to improve access to medicine.

Date

12 July 2023

DATE

Wednesday 12 July 2023

LOCATION

Utrecht University

The course aims to give students insight into current developments in pharmaceutical policy making and to provide them with a better understanding of the methods available for analysing the effects of policy interventions.

Marijn will be guest lecturing as part of the course’s session on “Policy and Politics”. In his capacity as Director of Operations and Research, Marijn will share insights from the Foundation’s work in improving global health and access to medicine.

In particular, he will focus on how the Foundation has expanded its theory of change to cover five essential healthcare sectors – and how we tailor our approach for each of these. He will engage with a diverse audience, including students, postgraduates and professionals within governments, NGOs and industry, on the way in which our teams engage with various stakeholders to identify key opportunities for collaboration and change-making.

In addition to his lecture, Marijn will also participate in a panel discussion on “Access to medicines as a human right”, which is co-organised with University Medical Centre Utrecht’s summer course on Global Health and Equity.
