The High-Level Leadership Dialogue on Prioritising Paediatric HIV and TB convenes key stakeholders to explore effective strategies for advancing research, development, registration, and implementation of preventive tools, diagnostics, and optimal treatments for children affected by HIV and TB. This important dialogue aims to reduce morbidity and mortality among these vulnerable populations by accelerating access to life-saving interventions.

As CEO of the Access to Medicine Foundation, Jayasree K. Iyer has been invited to participate in the Technical and Policy Dialogue on both days of the event, with a focus on the session titled “Solutions and Actions Related to Research and Development of Medicines for Children, Pregnant and Lactating Women (HIV and TB). ”  She will present key current and emerging R&D solutions for paediatric and maternal health, as outlined in the 2024 Access to Medicine Index. During the discussion, she will also highlight the Foundation’s commitments for the Methodology for the 2026 Access to Medicine Index, including new metrics to ensure the needs of these populations are reflected in clinical research and product development pipelines. During this session, Jayasree will speak alongside:

- Dr. Philippe Duneton, Executive Director, UNITAID;

- Ms. Audrey Abernathy, Vice President and Head of Communications and Government Affairs, ViiV Healthcare and GSK Global Health

On the second day of the event, Jayasree will take part in the “Global Health Leaders Dialogue Session.” The discussion will focus on issues related to access, inequities, child mortality, data, innovations, integration, sustainable financing and leadership opportunities. The session will also emphasise the importance of a collective commitment to prioritise children's health, including focused actions to achieve global goals of ending paediatric HIV and TB by 2030.
