Vasilis is a Researcher at the Access to Medicine Foundation, contributing to the Diabetes Care Programme. He supports the development of relevant reports through data collection and the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data. His research primarily focuses on identifying challenges patients face in obtaining insulin and exploring solutions to improve access to diabetes care.
Before joining the Foundation, Vasilis worked as a superintendent community pharmacist for seven years. He conducted pharmacy-based practice research focused on medicines optimisation for chronic and acute conditions, grounded in evidence-based principles. Additionally, during his studies, he conducted a pharmacoepidemiologic study on type 2 diabetes using real-world patient data from databases.
Vasilis holds a Master's degree in Pharmacy from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MSc in Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Practice from Queen's University of Belfast.
