She has broad experience across the global health sector, ranging from infectious disease to primary care. She brings nearly a decade of on-the-ground research experience in low- and middle-income countries, combined with strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Before joining the Foundation, Sara worked at KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation as a qualitative researcher, where she led multi-country feasibility and acceptability studies on TB diagnostics. At the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development she managed a Horizon2020 project focused on developing a novel influenza vaccine.
She also brings a social work perspective, with a strong focus on capacity building, equity and access, which she applies to her work with the Foundation and the Access to Medicine Index.
Sara holds master’s degrees in social work and public health from Boston University.
