Sabiha Essack is a professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and she is the South African Research Chair in Antibiotic Resistance. Sabiha also co-chairs the Quadripartite Technical Group on Integrated Surveillance and is a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for Antimicrobial Resistance (STAG-AMR).
In addition to these roles, Sabiha serves as the Senior Implementation Research Advisor to the International Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Solutions (ICARS), is an Advisory Board member of the Combating Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria Biopharmaceutical Accelerator (CARB-X) and is also a member of the Fleming Fund Expert Advisory Group.
