Before joining the Foundation, Marcello worked as a Senior Regulatory Affairs Officer for Health Canada where he played a key role in bringing the Moderna Spikevax Bivalent COVID-19 vaccine (Original/Omicron BA.1) to the Canadian population. He has previously researched gene-editing technologies at the University of Tokyo and performed clinical trials investigating probiotics for human use at the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal.
Marcello holds a Master of Medical Science with a major in Global Health from Karolinska Institutet and an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in Biochemistry and Physiology.
