With experience across clinical practice, academia, industry, consulting and government, Kiu brings a multidisciplinary perspective to global health. At WHO, he leads work on pharmaceutical pricing and broader strategies to improve access to essential medicines and health products. He has also led the production of key publications for WHO, including Pricing of cancer medicines and its impacts (2018); WHO guideline on country pharmaceutical pricing policies (2020);Â Keeping the 100-year-old promise: Making access to insulin universal (2021); and Left behind in pain: Extent and causes of global variations in access to morphine for medical use and actions to improve safe access (2023).Â

Kiu is a pharmacist and health economist serving as a Technical Officer in the Department of Health Products Policy and Standards at the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
