Johanna earned a Bachelor of Science from University College Maastricht and a Master's in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Amsterdam, with a specialisation in oncology and big data bioinformatics. Before joining the Foundation, she worked as a researcher in the Biochemistry Department at Maastricht University, contributing to a publication in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences. She also served as the Oncology Track Representative and student liaison for the Biomedical Sciences Master's programme at the University of Amsterdam. Additionally, Johanna completed a remote internship conducting bioinformatic research for Harvard Medical School.

Johanna Kerins is a Researcher on the Foundation’s Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) team. Her work focuses on evaluating company performance in responsible manufacturing, particularly in waste management practices at company sites, supplier facilities and external waste treatment plants. She also investigates how pharmaceutical companies ensure the continuous supply of quality-assured products to low- and middle-income countries.
