The article draws on insights from the report and from the Foundation's AMR Benchmark. It refers to steps taken by some pharmaceutical companies to limit the release of antibiotic waste into wastewater, and notes that these companies can also ensure compliance with these measures from their suppliers.

Marijn Verhoef, the Foundation's Director of Operations & Research is quoted: “In the absence of regulation on antibiotic discharge limits, the critical challenge for companies is to work with their suppliers to ensure the risk of AMR from manufacturing is limited across the full supply chain.”
