Beth Boyer to lead a seminar on access to medicine at University of Nottingham
On November 30, Beth Boyer, Researcher at the Access to Medicine Foundation, will lead a seminar at University of Nottingham on access to medicines. She will highlight key findings from Access to Medicine Index, including some examples of best practices and innovations in capacity building identified by the Foundation’s research team throughout the past 10 years. The diffusion of best practices is one of the Access to Medicine Foundation’s mechanisms for supporting the pharmaceutical industry to achieve greater access to medicine. Beth will also discuss the Foundation’s work on the next Access to Medicine Index that will be published in 2018.
Each Access to Medicine Index is the product of a two-year process known as the ‘Index cycle’, which begins with a review of the Index methodology. The aim is to align the methodology with changes in access-to-medicine priorities and expectations as to how pharmaceutical companies can make their products available, accessible and affordable to people living in developing countries. The 2017 Methodology for the 2018 Access to Medicine Index was published in October 2017.
