Gasworld Asia-Pacific Industrial Gases Conference 2023: Jayasree K. Iyer to present Foundation’s work on medical oxygen

Jayasree K. Iyer, CEO, will be attending gasworld’s Asia-Pacific Industrial Gases Conference, as a speaker and panelist during a session on healthcare in the Asia-Pacific region. Representing the Foundation, Jayasree will engage with fellow attendees – including representatives from leading gas companies that produce medical oxygen – on the importance of expanding access to this essential, lifesaving medicine.

Jayasree will present the Foundation’s work, including the Access to Medicine Index, to provide attendees with an overview of the impact of our change-making model. She will also discuss the Foundation’s Medical Oxygen Programme, sharing key findings from the first research report published under the programme in April 2023. Jayasree will focus on the specific actions gas companies can take to ensure sustainable access to medical liquid oxygen in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs), leaning into the Asia-Pacific context as well. After her presentation, Jayasree will participate in a panel discussion.

About the Foundation’s Medical Oxygen Programme

The Access to Medicine Foundation has been working on access to medical oxygen since 2020 and also participates in key oxygen groups. Through the Medical Oxygen Programme, the Foundation has co-hosted three roundta­ble events with the Every Breath Counts Coalition and a fourth with Chatham House, all focused on the subject of access to medical oxygen in LMICs.
