Sarah Paulin-Deschenaux is a member of the Expert Committee for the 2020 Antimicrobial Resistance Benchmark. Sarah works as Technical Officer on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in the World Health Organization (WHO) Department of Coordination and Partnership on AMR. Since joining the WHO Headquarters, she has worked primarily on antimicrobial R&D priority setting and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) initiatives, including the annual analysis of the clinical and preclinical antibacterial pipelines.
Sarah has also worked on the implementation of the WHO Practical Toolkit of AMS Programmes in Health-Care Facilities in Low-and Middle-Income Countries. Prior to taking up her current role at WHO Headquarters, Sarah coordinated the work of WHO in the Western Pacific Region on AMR. She supported countries in developing and implementing their multi-sectoral national action plans on AMR, raising awareness and advocacy on the issue of AMR and the rational use of antimicrobials.
