Geetanjali is also a strategic advisory board member for the Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR) as well as a member of the World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) bacterial priority pathogen advisory group. Through her work in the AMR space, she was involved in the development of partnerships for expansion of the AMR database, ResistanceMap; co-authored the State of the World’s Antibiotics Report 2021 and contributed to the African antibiotic treatment guidelines for common bacterial infections and syndromes.
Prior to joining One Health Trust, Geetanjali worked as a clinical microbiologist in India and Kuwait, and as a consultant at WHO. She contributed to India’s national infection prevention guidelines and state action plans for AMR control and has provided strategic guidance to pharmaceutical firms on drug development.
Geetanjali qualified as an MD at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh, India, and holds a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. She completed her senior residency in microbiology at the All Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, completed a Fellowship in general infectious diseases at the Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore, and obtained certification in hospital management at India’s National Institute of Health and Family Welfare.
