Emily is also the Director of the Working to Fight AMR public awareness campaign. She serves on the Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (PACCARB) and is a member of the Stakeholder Group for the Global AMR R&D Hub. She represents the biotech sector as a board member of the AMR Industry Alliance (AMRIA) and is co-Chair of AMRIA’s Research and Science Working Group. Emily is a Presidential Academic Scholar from George Washington University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs with dual concentrations in Global Public Health and International Development.

Emily Wheeler is Senior Director of Infectious Disease Policy at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). She is responsible for working with member companies engaged in antimicrobial research, development and commercialisation, and leads BIO’s antimicrobial resistance (AMR) legislative and regulatory policy efforts.
