Joelle Tanguy concludes her tenure on the Supervisory Board of the Access to Medicine Foundation

Formerly an IT industry professional in Silicon Valley, Joelle was inspired to shift her focus to work in the public health sector after volunteering for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). She led humanitarian operations in Armenia, Uganda, Somalia and Bosnia.
Since this pivotal turning point in her career, Joelle has been holding senior leadership positions at the helm of Médecins Sans Frontieres; GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance; the TB Alliance; the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS while serving as private sector focal point on the board of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria; the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Federation (IFRC); UN Women; and Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi).
"Serving on the Foundation’s supervisory board was another way to contribute to health equity, which I saw as a defining challenge of our time. I trust that the Foundation has been key to improving the status quo in access-to-medicine standards held by the pharmaceutical sector" says Joelle. "I leave with confidence that the Foundation will continue to play a critical role in access to health, in a context where climate change amplifies health inequities".
"Joelle's unmatched passion and extensive expertise in addressing access challenges have helped inspire, connect and mobilise solutions towards health equity in low- and middle-income countries," says Jayasree K. Iyer, CEO, Access to Medicine Foundation. "The strategic guidance that Joelle brought to the Foundation's supervisory board for the last decade has been immeasurable."
In the future, Joelle Tanguy will remain close to the Foundation's leadership as she serves as a special advisor.
