Date

02 December 2026

Location

Budapest, Hungary

Steffi Van Uytfanghe, Company Engagement Officer at the Access to Medicine Foundation, has been invited to speak at Gasworld's 2026 Global Industrial Gas Conference. The event will centre around on how industrial gas companies and end-users will operate differently by 2030, with a focus on risks, strategic enablement, supply chains and resilience within the industrial gas sector.

Steffi will speak during the event’s Africa-focused session, delivering a presentation about medical oxygen access challenges with creating stable access on the continent, how to build sustainable oxygen ecosystems and why investing in low- and middle-income countries is advantageous for the industry itself.

Steffi will also showcase the Global Oxygen Alliance (GO2AL) Community of Practice, which the Foundation facilitates on behalf of the GO2AL. Sharing the Foundation’s efforts in three pilot countries – Uganda, South Africa, and Senegal – she will explain how serve this work serves as a proof of concept for effective industry-government collaboration.

About the Medical Oxygen Community of Practice

Launched by the Foundation in 2025, the Medical Oxygen CoP brings together oxygen companies, GO₂AL members and other key stakeholders to exchange best practices, strengthen partnerships and co-create solutions to improve sustainable access to medical oxygen. Through a series of virtual and in-person roundtables, the CoP is helping identify concrete actions that industry and partners can take to support stronger systems for medical oxygen over the long term.
