CPHIA 2023 is the third iteration of the conference and provides a unique African-led platform for leaders across the continent to reflect on lessons learned in health and science and align on a way forward for creating more resilient health systems. This year, CPHIA will again take place virtually and will be hosted by the Zambian Ministry of Health between 27 and 30 November in Lusaka, Zambia, under the theme “Breaking Barriers: Repositioning Africa in the Global Health Architecture”.
Mary has been invited to speak on a panel discussion on 27 November, titled “Action oriented respectful partnerships for public health in Africa: Partnerships for access to medicines”. During the session Mary will draw on the Foundation’s work – including the Access to Medicine Index – to highlight examples of how partnerships between the pharmaceutical industry and various stakeholders have been pivotal in enhancing access to medicine in LMICs.
The key areas of discussion will include:
Catalysing and promoting collaborations across the healthcare sector in Africa by emphasising the importance of partnership-driven actions that can trigger a paradigm shift in how public health challenges are addressed across the continent.
Creating proactive partnerships with various stakeholders across sectors and industries that will have an impact in reshaping the public health narrative and creating a lasting impact.
The session, which forms part of the overall CPHIA agenda, is co-hosted by Africa Health Business and Pfizer. To find out more, or to register, click here.
