Foundation to share expertise at first meeting of the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform

As a member of the recently formed Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform, the Access to Medicine Foundation will attend the Inaugural Plenary Assembly, where members will convene and collaborate to shape the future work of the Platform.

Date

15 November 2023

Date

15 – 16 November

Location

Rome, Italy

Format

In-person

The AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform aims to catalyse a global movement for action against AMR by fostering cooperation between a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels across the One Health Spectrum.

The Platform provides members, including the Foundation, the opportunity to share and enhance knowledge, evidence and innovation to underpin key AMR actions, policy recommendations and guidance.

During the Inaugural Plenary Assembly, Martijn van Gerven, Reasearch Coordinator at the Foundation, will offer insights on how the pharmaceutical industry can curb AMR. Specifically, Martijn will highlight the Foundation’s work tackling issues of access to antibiotics in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), stewardship, research and development and AMR risk from manufacturing.

About the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform

The World Health Organization, UN Environment Programme, World Organisation for Animal Health and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (also known as the Quadripartite on AMR) launched the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform in November 2022 to ensure the growing threats and impacts of AMR are addressed globally.

The Foundation became a member of the Platform on 13 September 2023, and is part of the Civil Society Organizations Cluster Governance. For more information, click here.
