Muhammad Asif Nawaz | Access to Medicine

As Financial Controller at the Access to Medicine Foundation, Asif manages the organisation’s day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, reporting and compliance with Dutch regulations. He oversees financial closures, audits and payroll checks, and provides the Management Team with clear insights on budgeting, liquidity and financial performance. He works closely with colleagues across Operations and HR to ensure that financial processes support the Foundation’s work to improve access to medicine.

Originally from Pakistan, Asif holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is a qualified Public Finance Accountant (PIPFA) and an Affiliate Financial Accountant (ICMAP), and is currently pursuing his Chartered Management Accountancy qualification with ICMAP as a finalist. He has over a decade of experience in finance, administration and accounting within international non-profit organisations, including UNICEF in Nigeria and Pakistan.

His work has focused on financial controlling, audit coordination, donor-funded project reporting and budgeting in complex programme environments. He has managed end-to-end accounting processes, supported financial planning and forecasting and ensured compliance with international standards and donor requirements. Based in the Netherlands, he is further developing his knowledge of Dutch financial regulations and strengthening his Dutch language skills.
