About the Access to Medicine Foundation

The Access to Medicine Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Our mission is to stimulate and guide healthcare companies to do more for people worldwide who cannot access the medicines they need. The core pillar of our work is researching how healthcare companies address the affordability and accessibility of their products in low and middle-income countries. To turn our research into real-world change, we engage with leading organisations, including companies, NGOs, investors and governments.

The Foundation has a growing global network of over 200 institutional investors, with USD 22 trillion in AUM, who use our reports and resources to aid their stewardship and investment processes when it comes to access to medicine and antimicrobial resistance. The Foundation supports investors to use our findings and analysis to better manage associated risks and opportunities for healthcare companies, and to drive positive change across the healthcare sector.

In this role, you will work closely with the Investor Engagement Manager to help bring the Access to Medicine Foundation’s projects and ambitions to life. You’ll play a hands-on role in driving meaningful collaboration with investors and contributing to real-world impact in global health.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging and supporting investors: Contribute to day-to-day communication with investors through bilateral meetings, webinars, workshops, and follow-ups to research publications—helping our signatory base actively engage with healthcare companies.

  • Turning insights into action: Encourage investors to apply the Foundation’s research by creating and delivering tailored content, identifying new investors to collaborate with, and responding to requests from both signatories and non-signatories.

  • Strengthening internal reporting: Support reporting processes by preparing high-quality content and data for a range of internal and external reports.

  • Driving change: Help operationalise and implement collective engagement initiatives focused on access to medicine and engage directly with investors to advance these goals.

  • Staying ahead of the landscape: Monitor and document external developments that highlight the importance of access to medicine for companies and investors.

  • Research and analysis: Analyse relevant news and trends in the investor landscape, including ESG integration and active ownership best practices.

  • Collaborating across teams: Work closely with colleagues across Research, Company Engagement, Government Engagement, Policy, and Communications to strengthen investor engagement and share insights.

  • Amplifying impact: Contribute to website and social media content, and support investors in raising awareness externally.

  • Representing the Foundation: Support speakers at events, seminars, and conferences—translating research into accessible insights and, where appropriate, representing the Foundation yourself.

This is a dynamic role offering the opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, healthcare, and sustainability—helping shape how investors contribute to improving access to medicine worldwide.

What we are looking for

  • A relevant postgraduate degree in a field such as medical sciences, pharmacy, finance, business, sustainability, health policy/public health, or health economics.

  • At least 1 year of experience in or with the healthcare sector and/or related financial industry (public or private); experience working with investors is a plus.

  • Understanding of ESG and sustainability topics, ideally with exposure to medicines.

  • Knowledge of global public health, the pharmaceutical sector, and access to medicine issues.

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across different settings.

  • A collaborative mindset with an affinity for stakeholder engagement and relationship building.

  • Strong attention to detail and a structured, organised way of working.

  • Ability to produce high-quality written materials with minimal review.

  • Comfortable working both independently and cross functionally as part of a team.

  • Willingness to collaborate with stakeholders who are based in different time-zones.

  • The position is based in Amsterdam and a valid work permit to work in the Netherlands is required.

What we offer you

  • A dynamic, innovative, working environment with a diverse team based in our Amsterdam office. This position is not available for remote work outside the Netherlands, and relocation costs will not be reimbursed.

  • Hybrid options, with 2-3 days per week in our Amsterdam office and the remainder working from home in the Netherlands.

  • The opportunity to contribute to the development of analyses, reports, and materials for events.

  • A collaborative team environment where colleagues learn from and support one another.

  • Benefits, including 25 days of annual leave (based on fulltime employment), a mandatory company pension scheme, holiday allowance, and reimbursement of commuting costs for public transport (for employees living more than 10km from the office).

How to apply

Interested in this exciting opportunity? Please send your cover letter with your motivation on why you would like to join the Access to Medicine Foundation and how you think you will fit in our team, your resume, the contact details of two references (e-mail address), one writing sample (i.e. published article, thesis or white paper) to Mrs. Mireille Deen at recruitment@accesstomedicinefoundation.org.
