The article highlights that while major pharmaceutical companies are making progress in improving access to medicines for specific populations, there is still significant room for them to further refine their goals and commitments.

“Pharmaceutical companies play a critical role in expanding access to medicines in LMICs, and we are encouraged by the commitments from several key players in the industry,” stated Marijn Verhoef, Director of Operations and Research at the Foundation. “Many of these commitments are measurable and publicly available, which is a strong indication that companies are moving in the right direction.”

The article also outlines several recommendations from the report, including the need for increased transparency in patient metrics and improved collaboration, particularly in measuring and reporting patient reach.
