Limited access to antibiotics is driving resistance, warns watchdog
"Companies are failing to ensure that their drugs and vaccines reach the world’s poorest people or to fully control manufacturing waste, which increases the risk of bacteria resistant to antibiotics, a watchdog has warned," the Financial Times writes in a report on the 2021 Antimicrobial Resistance Benchmark.
The article explores the dangers of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), issues around appropriate access and responsible manufacturing, and the impact of Covid-19 on overprescribing – as well as looking closely at how each of the companies performs.
