Nicole DeFeudis of Endpoints News writes about the 2021 Access to Medicine Index findings on how the pharmaceutical industry is 'inching ahead' in improving access to medicine - an issue that has been underscored by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nicole refers to the eight pharmaceutical companies that integrate access planning into their pipeline, noting that 12 companies are still lagging behind and most of the key products are not supported by access plans.

The article dives deeper into the findings on the various health products assessed by the Index with a focus on the related access strategies. It also gives a brief overview of the companies implementing such strategies in low- and middle-income countries.
