World Antimicrobial Resistance Congress 2022: Global stakeholders meet to tackle AMR

The Access to Medicine Foundation's Marijn Verhoef and Moska Hellamand will speak at the World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Congress in Washington DC.

Date

07 September 2022

Date

7 - 8 September

Location

Washington DC, USA

Marijn Verhoef (bottom left) is the Director of Operations and Research, and Moska Hellamand (top right) is a Researcher at the Foundation

Marijn will speak on the panel, “Addressing Environmental Aspects of AMR”, which will discuss the importance of the environment in the development and spread of AMR as part of the "One Health" approach.

He will be joining fellow panelists from the AMR Alliance, Centrient and the Wellcome Trust.

Moska will speak on the panel, "Sustainable access for existing antibiotics: Focus on Market Challenges." She will be joining fellow panelists from ReAct Africa, GARDP and Sondoz, and will also lead a roundtable discussion at the event.

The World AMR Congress, hosted by Terrapinn, focuses on “one of the most important parts of the AMR challenge: tackling the supply problem.”

The Access to Medicine Foundation has attended this annual conference for a number of years, where thought leaders, hospitals, companies and policymakers in the AMR space can engage on formulating solutions to combat the urgent global AMR health crisis.

Moska and Marijn will share insights from the latest Antimicrobial Resistance Benchmark, published in November 2021, as well as from our recent study on how to increase access to antibiotics and antifungals in LMICs as part of the fight against AMR.
