The Access to Medicine Foundation joins UN General Assembly 2026

The 81st session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 81) will open on Tuesday, 8 September 2026. The Access to Medicine Foundation team will attend to convene with leaders, experts and decision-makers across countries and sectors to discuss key issues around global health.

Date

22 September 2026

Location

New York

The Access to Medicine Foundation will attend the 81st session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City, where world leaders will gather to address international security, climate goals and humanitarian crises.

The Foundation's team will include:

  • Jayasree K. Iyer, Chief Executive Officer

  • Pauline L'Hénaff, Head of Industry Engagement

  • Margo Warren, Director of Government Engagement & Policy

Throughout the assembly, the Foundation’s team will engage with key stakeholders and industry representatives and contribute to conversations around urgent global health topics at various events. With the high-level meeting on 25 September set to focus on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, the Foundation’s expertise on how governments, industry and other stakeholders can collaborate to prioritise access to medicine in low- and middle-income countries will be particularly relevant.

The Foundation published a briefing, linked below, laying out a roadmap for governments to put the 2023 Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response political declaration into action, highlighting political commitments that improve access and equity. The upcoming high-level meeting at UNGA will provide a key opportunity to strengthen industry accountability and engagement.
