About UNGA 78

The 78th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 78) will be held on 18-26 September 2023 at the UN headquarters in New York. The General Assembly is the main deliberative, policymaking, and representative organ of the UN. It is composed of representatives of all member states of the UN, which meet in annual sessions dedicated to discussions on current issues of critical importance to the international community.

The UN General Assembly will convene three high-level Meetings on health during the 78th session. These present a historic opportunity for world leaders to place health back on the high-level political agenda as they recommit to ending tuberculosis (TB), delivering universal health coverage (UHC) and strengthening pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.
