Suzi van Es joins EBRD Symposium to discuss public and private cooperation on curbing AMR globally

Suzi van Es, Investor Engagement Manger at the Access to Medicine Foundation, has been invited to join a panel discussion at the European Bank for Reconstruction (EBRD) Symposium to discuss strategies curbing AMR through private partnerships.

Date

18 April 2024

Location

London, United Kingdom

DATE

18 April 2024

LOCATION

London, United Kingdom

FORMAT

In-person

The upcoming Symposium will welcome representatives from multilateral banks and other stakeholders to discuss how public and private entities can collaborate to address AMR at the country, regional and global level and report their progress on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The symposium comes ahead of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting in September of 2024, in which members will discuss budgeting for issues including AMR as well as the UK’s landmark report on the global economic impact of AMR, which will be launched in April this month.

Suzi will participate in a panel discussion entitled "AMR & Capital Market, Industry and ESG," which will dive into how private sector engagement can create faster impact than policy change. To that end, Suzi plans to share how the Foundation and its investor signees help companies progress on AMR goals through ambitious and successful partnerships.

Other panellists will include Abigail Herron from Aviva Investors, which is a signatory of the Investor Action on AMR Initiative; Emma Berntman, Senior Engagement Specialist at FAIRR; Keiko Tone, General Manager UK, Nordics and the Netherlands at Shionogi; and Anita McBain, Managing Director, Head of ESG Research, EMEA at Citigroup.
