SDG Tent - Access to Medicines in Emerging Markets: How Executives and Investors can Help

On 28 April 2021, Jayasree K. Iyer, Executive Director of the Acces to Medicine Foundation, will participate in SDG Tent, organized by the INSEAD Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society.

Date

28 April 2021

Update: You can watch the recording of the discussion here.

Initiated by a purpose driven business collective, the SDG Tent has been an impartial and open space where ideas, thought leadership and unhindered dialogue flourishes at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos. The goal of the SDG Tent is to progress the global debate around the role of business and its capacity to deliver sustainable and inclusive development.

This panel discussion, named “Access to Medicines in Emerging Markets: How Executives and Investors can Help,” will bring together senior executives to discuss the progress made on this front so far, and ways to further bolster efforts to improve access to medicines in low- and middle-income countries.

Jayasree will discuss findings from the 2021 Access to Medicine Index. She will also address the materiality of the access-to-medicine issue and discuss the role and implications of investors in securing commitments in improving access.

Panelists for the event include:

  • André Hoffmann, Vice Chairman, Roche

  • Jayasree K. Iyer, CEO, Access to Medicine Foundation

  • Karianne Bail-Lancee, Director, Sustainable and Impact Investing, UBS Asset Management

The event will be moderated by Prashant Yadav, Affiliate Professor of Technology and Operations Management, INSEAD.
