Established in 1975 as a Public Trust, the Foundation for Medical Research (FMR) is recognised by the government of India as a national research organisation. FMR conducts a blend of basic biomedical, translational and public health research, with a longstanding focus on major infectious diseases such as leprosy and tuberculosis.
Sadhavi Chauhan, Government Engagement and Policy Manager at the Access to Medicine Foundation, has been invited to speak at an event hosted by FMR titled “From Neglect to Necessity: Prioritising Maternal Health in Global R&D Pipelines.”
Drawing on the Foundation’s work, including the 2022 Special Report on Women’s Health and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Sadhavi will discuss how pharmaceutical companies can take further steps to improve access to SRHR-related products. She will also present research and development (R&D) findings from the 2024 Access to Medicine Index, highlighting current developments and emerging innovations of companies aimed at addressing maternal health.
