Ahead of the 2025 UN High-Level Meeting (UNGA) on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), the NCD Coalition is convening a three-day Member Meeting. The event will bring together government officials, private sector leaders, and partner organisations to align strategies, share innovative solutions, and build momentum for effective action to improve access to NCD medicines and care globally.Â
The meeting aims to align advocacy efforts with country needs by addressing challenges related to sustainable financing and affordable access to NCD medicines and products. Key themes include raising awareness of local innovations, supporting the transition from political commitments to practical action, and tackling on-the-ground barriers to access.Â
Sadhavi Chauhan, Head of Government Engagement and Policy at the Access to Medicine Foundation, has been invited to participate in the third day of the event, which focus on coalition workplan to break down barriers to access. Sadhavi will share insights from the 2024 Access to Medicine Index and the recently published report on diabetes care for children and young people in low- and middle-income countries. She will also present the Foundation’s briefing for the 2025 UNGA meeting on NCDs, highlighting key priorities for engaging the pharmaceutical industry to enhance access to life-saving NCD treatments.Â
