Margo Warren to attend second annual AI in Health Summit

The Annual AI in Health Summit explores why so few health systems around the world have effectively scaled AI to solve healthcare-related issues despite rapid advancements in technology. Attendees include representatives from governments, pharmaceutical companies,  patient groups, NGOs, charities, investment firms and clinicians.

Margo Warren, Director of Government Engagement & Policy at the Access to Medicine Foundation, will attend the Summit to share the latest insights from the Foundation’s research on gaps in access to medicine in low- and middle-income countries.

She will participate in a panel discussion entitled ‘AI and equity: what models are actually expanding healthcare access?’

This discussion will center around how AI has the potential to either improve or exacerbate healthcare disparities and access gaps in underserved communities, depending on how stakeholders leverage the technology. She will speak alongside:

• Elpida Fotiadou, Director of Horizontal eHealth Initiatives, IDIKA SMSA 

• Eva Weicken, Chief Medical Officer, Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute

• Davide Bilardi, Deputy Director and teaching fellow, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford

Margo will share insights from the Access to Medicine Index, which focuses on how 20 of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies can expand access to their essential products where they are needed most, the next iteration of which is set for publication on 10 November.
