Jayasree K. Iyer to speak on access to cancer care at Joint WHO-UNICEF-UNFPA meeting

Jayasree K. Iyer, Executive Director of the Access to Medicine Foundation, will speak at the Joint WHO-UNICEF-UNFPA meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark, on September 18-21, 2017. She will present the Access to Medicine Foundation’s most recent research, into pharmaceutical company actions to address access to cancer care in low- and middle-income countries

Jayasree will set out the roles for the different stakeholders in improving access to cancer care, with a specific focus on the responsibilities and opportunities for companies with oncology products.

The goal of the joint meeting is to bring together medicines and diagnostics manufacturers, quality, safety and efficacy experts, procurement agencies, and international donors working in public health to discuss in procurement, supply and WHO prequalification for a broad range of pharmaceutical products. Jayasree will open a session on the WHO’s pilot project on the prequalification of biosimilars for cancer treatment.
