Date

Location

About the event

The World Health Summit is one of the most important gatherings on global health. In partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), this year’s summit will engage an even broader group of experts from across multiple sectors, and significantly increase the participation from low- and middle-income countries – with a focus on collective action in finding solutions for global health equity.

Six thousand participants from more than100 nations are expected to attend the Summit. Speakers include German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, along with an array of leaders from both the private and public sectors.

Panel discussion

This year's Summit will focus on ‘Making the choice for health’, with investment for health and well-being as one of the key topics. The urgency of sustainable, equitable private and public investment in this regard is proving to be more important than ever, given today’s intersecting global challenges.

Alongside other leading experts, Jayasree will take part in the panel discussion, ‘Game Changer: A new lens on investment in health and well-being'.

The panel will focus on public investment in the health sector and the impact of this on other sectors, as well as the inclusion of health as a key criterion for investors in steering their portfolios.

The discussion will also look at the connections between public and private investment decisions, specifically considering what can be done to ensure that large financial flows increasingly support health and improve the impact of economic actors and widen the economic, social and environmental (ESG) approach to include health considerations. As vulnerable and marginalised people groups of people are particularly affected, investment targeted to health and its determinants also plays a crucial role for health equity.
