Jayasree K. Iyer at CUGH 2023 to speak on enhancing access to novel products

Access to Medicine Foundation CEO Jayasree K. Iyer to attend the Consortium of Universities for Global Health’s Annual Conference and participate in a panel discussion on “Market Shaping and Global Health: Accelerating Access to Novel Pharmaceutical Products Worldwide”.

As a panelist in the discussion titled "Market Shaping and Global Health: Accelerating Access to Novel Pharmaceutical Products Worldwide," Jayasree will join a diverse group of experts from government, the pharmaceutical industry, multilateral organisations, and non-profits. Together, they will explore the latest strategies for improving access to novel pharmaceutical products worldwide.

The panel will be moderated by Claire Wagner, MD, MBA - Gates Medical Research Institute. Other panelists include:

  • Mary-Ann Etiebet, MD, MBA – Assistant Vice President, Health Equity, Merck

  • Janet Ginnard, BSE, MPhil – Director, Strategy at Unitaid

  • Amy Lin, MBA – Director, USAID

  • Honorable Minister Sabin Nsanzimana, MD, MSc, PhD, FRCP – The Minister of Health of Rwanda

Drawing on her extensive experience, and the recently published 2022 Access to Medicine Index, Jayasree will offer valuable insights into key findings, industry trends and best practices identified by the Foundation. Specifically, she will address the pharmaceutical industry's role in enhancing access to novel products in low- and middle-income countries.

About the event

The Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) 2023 annual conference returns in-person, after a hiatus since 2019.

More than 2000 scientists, students and implementers from academia, NGOs, government and the private sector will convene to address global health, environmental and development challenges.
