Jayasree K. Iyer returns to annual World Health Summit to discuss A.I.’s impact on global health equity

At the 2025 World Health Summit, Access to Medicine Foundation CEO Jayasree K. Iyer will participate in a panel discussion called ‘Next-Gen Health Systems: Building with Data, Designing for Impact’ exploring how technology can be leveraged to improve access planning.

The World Health Summit 2025 will host more than 70 sessions spanning pressing global health challenges, bringing together speakers and participants from academia, the public and private sectors and civil society. 

Jayasree K. Iyer, CEO of the Access to Medicine Foundation, will return to the conference, participating in a panel discussion, ‘Next-Gen Health Systems: Building with Data, Designing for Impact,’ which will explore how automation and artificial intelligence can be used to improve health systems. 

The panel, chaired by David Humphreys, Executive Advisor at Triangulate Health, will also include:   

  • Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe 

  • Rowland Illing, Chief Medical Officer, Amazon Web Services 

  • Sai Praveen Haranath, Apollo Hospitals, India | Tele-ICU and AI Implementation Expert 

  • Angeli Möller, Group Chief Health Officer, Zühlke

In the discussion, Jayasree will focus on the technology’s potential to strengthen healthcare supply chains and improve access to medicines in underserved regions. She will emphasise the pharmaceutical industry’s responsibility to prioritise low- and middle-income countries as they integrate innovative tools into their strategies to ensure that global health equity remains a priority.

The World Health Summit (WHS) is one of the world's leading global health conferences. The 2025 WHS will take place from 12-14 October, bringing stakeholders from stakeholders from all sectors and regions together in Berlin, Germany.  In 2025, it takes place under the theme "Taking Responsibility for Health in a Fragmenting World."
