James Hazel to join webinar panel discussing transforming cancer care

James Hazel, Research Programme Manager for the Access to Medicine Index at the Access to Medicine Foundation, will join the panel of the upcoming Asia Pacific Oncology Alliance (APOA) webinar. During the webinar, James will provide insights into the Index and its role in driving impactful change within cancer care.

Drawing from his role as Research Programme Manager, James Hazel will provide a comprehensive overview of the Access to Medicine Index's role in transforming cancer care. The Foundation is on track to publish the methodology for the 2024 Access to Medicine Index later this year. In light of this upcoming release, James will delve into how the Index evaluates and compares 20 of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical companies according to their efforts to improve access to medicine in low- and middle-income countries.  

Alongside James, the webinar will feature notable speakers, including: 

  • Carmen Auste - CEO, Cancer Warriors Foundation; and Vice President, Cancer Coalition Philippines 

  • Melanie Samson - Senior Manager - Capacity Building, Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) 

  • Dr Nirmala Bhoo-Pathy - Professor of (Clinical) Epidemiology, Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya 

  • Dr Nguyen Quy Pham - Y hoc cong dong Organization Vietnam and Kyoto University
