Part of catalysing this change requires building stakeholder consensus around the role of industry within the global health system, which Claudia will be discussing with students. In particular, she will draw on the recent experience of developing the first-ever framework for evaluating the actions of generic and biosimilar medicine manufacturers in expanding access to medicine, which was published in February 2023 by the Foundation.

Claudia will also discuss the role of partnerships in global health, specifically opportunities for the pharmaceutical industry to work collaboratively with governments, distributors, procurers, and other public health sector partners to expand the reach of medicines in low- and middle-income countries.
