Foundation to co-host networking reception with MedAccess, alongside UNGA

On the final day of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the Access to Medicine Foundation will co-host a networking session with MedAccess, providing a forum for global health leaders to discuss the funding strategies necessary to navigate the evolving global health landscape.

Date

23 September 2025

Location

New York

In September 2025, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will hold its 80th session in New York City, where the Foundation will host a series of events focused on fostering collaborations to tackle current challenges in sustaining and improving global access to medicine.

Among these events will be a networking reception, co-hosted with MedAccess, bringing together 80 stakeholders, including senior representatives from pharmaceutical companies, donors, government officials from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and multilateral organisations.

To foster dialogue and unpack opportunities for stakeholders in attendance, the reception will include a panel discussion focusing on the current state of global health financing. The session will centre around the key factors behind recent funding shifts, and the necessary partnerships and financial strategies needed to sustain access to healthcare going forward.

Other events included in the series are a high-level, closed-door roundtable titled “Health equity event: Measuring & reporting patient reach", co-hosted with PGIM and Jennison Associates, and a roundtable titled "Bridging the gap: Scaling innovative approaches to NCD medicine access in LMICS", co-hosted in collaboration with the Medicines Patent Pool (MPP), the NCD Alliance (NCDA) and the NCD Policy Lab.
