Foundation to co-host networking reception with MedAccess alongside UNGA

The Access to Medicine Foundation is co-hosting a networking session with MedAccess during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The Foundation’s CEO, Jayasree K. Iyer, will deliver the keynote address at the event, which will be provide global health leaders with an additional forum to discuss current hurdles in healthcare equity goals.

During the final week of UNGA, the Foundation will co-host an evening reception with MedAccess, providing global health industry stakeholders an opportunity to convene on healthcare access-specific issues after the Assembly’s daytime sessions. Representatives from governments, civil society, industry, global health and academia will be in attendance.

As part of the evening’s proceedings, Jayasree will deliver the keynote address and serve as panelist and moderator during sessions scheduled for the event. She plans to highlight current challenges in the pursuit of global healthcare equity in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), and new research insights on pharmaceutical companies’ efforts to expand access to their products in LMICs.

About MedAccess 

MedAccess is a financially-focused social enterprise that analyses markets, identifies opportunities and negotiates agreements with manufacturers and procurers to improve access to healthcare products where they are unavailable or unaffordable, especially LMICs.
