LMIC Engagement Coordinator

The Science for Africa Foundation is organising a solution-focused workshop to address crucial procurement and supply management (PSM) challenges facing Africa’s science community. Building upon previous successful convenings, this workshop aims to establish practical, short-term, mid-term and long-term solutions that contribute to reliable and efficient procurement systems across Africa. Specifically, this meeting will focus on the impact of barriers on Pathogen Genomics Sequencing (PGS) and related diagnostics as case studies.

Representing the Access to Medicine Foundation, Research Coordinator Emma Schiffman and LMIC Engagement Coordinator Vanessia Owusu-Ansah will participate in the roundtable discussion “Procurement and Supply of Pathogen Genomic Sequencing Supplies.”  They will present the Foundation’s key findings on clinical trials and emerging research and development trends, emphasising opportunities for companies. They will also highlight the Foundation’s work on local manufacturing, drawing on insights from the 2024 Access to Medicine Index.
