Foundation team to attend AHMTEC 2026 and co-host side event with Vizuri and GIZ

This year’s African Healthcare Manufacturing Trade Exhibition and Conference (AHMTEC), entitled ‘Collaborate, Innovate, Manufacture: Shaping the Future of African Medicines Together’ will explore how public and private industry stakeholders can work together to expand access to medicine across Africa, with an emphasis on how bolstering local manufacturing can help reduce countries’ dependence on imported products.

The Access to Medicine Foundation's team in attendance will include:

Throughout the event, the team will share insights from the Foundation’s latest publication on how generic medicine manufacturers are helping stabilise Africa’s medicine supply, highlighting opportunities for companies to take action and the role of strategies such as technology transfer in addressing access gaps.

Claudia will also support a side event co-organised by Vizuri Health Dynamics, the Access to Medicine Foundation, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), entitled, ‘Demystifying Technology Transfers: Building the Next Generation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Partnerships in Africa.’

The event will bring together multinational pharmaceutical companies, African manufacturers, governments, funders and other stakeholders to explore how technology transfer partnerships can support sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing in Africa. The discussion will focus on the commercial models, enabling conditions and partnership approaches needed to build lasting manufacturing capabilities and strengthen pharmaceutical supply chains across the continent.
