Foundation Research Team to give lecture at Boston University School of Public Health

On November 10, Danny Edwards, Research Programme Manager for the Access to Medicine Index, and his team of Researchers, Stine Trolle and Beth Boyer, will present the current work of the Access to Medicine Foundation and the new methodology for the 2018 Access to Medicine Index, including key changes in the analytical framework at Boston University School of Public Health. They will discuss the inclusion of cancer in the disease scope of the Index as well as the importance of capacity building and health system strengthening for improving access to cancer care.

Danny Edwards will give a presentation on the current work of the Access to Medicine Foundation and the 2018 Access to Medicine Index methodology report that was published on October 5, 2017. Stine Trolle will elaborate on the inclusion of cancer in the disease scope, highlighting some of the challenges of incorporating it into the 2018 Access to Medicine Index methodology. Beth Boyer will focus on the importance of health system strengthening for improving access to cancer care. She will also present the capacity building framework of good practice standards that should guide company initiatives in this area. The 2018 Access to Medicine Index will be published in November 2018.This is the third year when the Foundation is giving a lecture on the Access to Medicine Index to students doing a Masters in Public Health at Boston University.
