In-person

The ARV Summit is organised by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund), together with the United States President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and the Department of Heath of the Republic of South Africa.
Representing the Access to Medicine Foundation, Research Programme Manager Claudia Martínez will be attending this forum, where generic and biosimilar medicine manufacturers will convene to share updates on initiatives and strategies to ensure access and supply of products for people living with HIV in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Following the 26 September launch of the Foundation’s landmark report assessing the access efforts of five major generic and biosimilar medicine manufacturers – Cipla, Hikma, Sun Pharma, Teva, and Viatris – Claudia will have the opportunity to present the report’s findings and engage with companies and other stakeholders at the event. She will also participate in a panel discussion, titled “The role of partnership, innovation and south-to-south collaboration in accelerating progress”.
About the panel
During the discussion, Claudia will share insights from the report, specifically its industry analysis, and will discuss opportunities identified to expand access to generic and biosimilar medicines in LMICs, as well as how to overcome current challenges.
Given the increased focus on topics related to access to medicine in LMICs at this year’s event, including local production, adaptive R&D and access to generics, Claudia will be able to add valuable input to the discussion alongside other experts.
