Emma Shiffman attends 13th edition of the annual Linking Research, Policy and Practice (LRPP) conference

Emma Shiffman, Research Coordinator at the Access to Medicine Foundation, will attend the LRPP Conference to connect with organisations involved in integrating research into policy and practice in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

Date

07 November 2024

Location

The Hague, Netherlands

The 13th edition of the LRPP Conference seeks to cultivate partnerships among policymakers, practitioners and researchers committed to working on SRHR and gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE). By organising a variety of sessions, the conference seeks to identify further gaps in research, policy and practice.

One session of particular relevance to the Foundation is “Session 2b: Barriers to access: Evaluating healthcare services for vulnerable communities”. The session resonates with the Foundation’s work, especially the insights from a Special Report published in the 2022 Access to Medicine Index which examines how companies ensure access to their SRHR-related products for women and girls in low- and middle-income countries.

Representing the Foundation, Emma Schiffman, Research Coordinator at the Access to Medicine Foundation, will attend the conference. She plans to engage with fellow attendees and share insights on the role of pharmaceutical companies in overcoming access barriers to essential health products in the field of SRHR.
