Dutch Global Health Film Festival: Resistance Fighters

On the 15th February, Deirdre Cogan from the Access to Medicine Foundation will participate in a panel discussion at the Dutch Global Health Film Festival in Rotterdam.

Date

15 February 2020

Deirdre will take part in a panel discussion following a screening of the documentary Resistance Fighters. The documentary investigates how experts in the field of antimicrobial resistance are searching for a global solution to a global challenge.

During the discussion, panellists will explore the sense of urgency that the general public and different stakeholders have around AMR and how a One Health approach may provide solutions in addressing the threat of resistance.  Deirdre will share the outcomes of the latest Antimicrobial Resistance Benchmark and what can be done to accelerate the development of new antibiotics.

Panellists include:

  • Luisa Fernanda Toro-Alzate of the Royal Tropical Institute KIT in The Netherlands

  • David Speksnijder, Assistant professor and ruminant veterinarian at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the University Farm Animal Clinic of Utrecht University

  • Deirdre Cogan, Writer and editor, Access to Medicine Foundation
