Damiano de Felice to speak at High-level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage

On Thursday, 31 May, Damiano de Felice, Director of Strategy of the Access to Medicine Foundation, will participate in the High-level Meeting: Universal Health Coverage as a Tool to Combat Infectious Diseases in Tokyo, Japan.  Damiano will discuss approaches to limiting antimicrobial resistance (AMR), drawn from the findings of the first Antimicrobial Resistance Benchmark that maps pharmaceutical company efforts to address AMR.

Date

31 May 2018

The High-level Meeting, co-hosted by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, aims to facilitate agreement between governments and other stakeholders on practical actions to ensure access to effective treatment of infectious diseases, while reducing the risk of the emergence of AMR.  It will bring together senior-level government officials in charge of universal health coverage (UHC) and AMR in Ministry of Health, as well as stakeholders from Asia and Europe to explore the challenges they face in both ensuring access to antibiotic treatment, when needed, and reducing the risk of AMR.
