On Thursday, 24 May, Damiano de Felice, Director of Strategy of the Access to Medicine Foundation, will speak at ” The Path to Universal Health Coverage: Access to Affordable Treatments” in Geneva. The event, organised by the Department of Health of South Africa, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Unitaid and the Medicines Patent Pool (MPP), will include the launch of the MPP’s new five-year strategy for accelerating access to life-saving medicines in developing countries and of a feasibility study on the expansion of the MPP into patented essential medicines.

Date

24 May 2018

Damiano will join a panel discussion, moderated by Marie-Paule Kieny, Chair of the Governance Board, MPP, aimed to explore the pathways to universal health coverage and access to affordable medicines.  He will present the Foundation’s findings and work on the Access to Medicine Index. To help guide pharmaceitical company actions, the Access to Medicine Foundation published the methodology report for the 2018 Access to Medicine Index to pinpoint where they have the greatest potential to make medicine more available and affordable.
