Council of Institutional Investors Spring 2021 Conference: Moving Forward Together

On Monday, 8 March 2021, Damiano de Felice, Director of Strategy at the Access to Medicine Foundation, will participate in a panel discussion as a part of the Council of Institutional Investors Spring 2021 Conference: Moving Forward Together.

Date

08 March 2021

The Council of Institutional Investors (CII) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association of U.S. public, corporate and union employee benefit funds, other employee benefit plans, state and local entities charged with investing public assets, and foundations and endowments. CII holds two conferences a year for all members which offer opportunities to interact, share best practices and learn from representatives from major institutional investors, regulators, legislators and other corporate governance professionals from across the globe.

Damiano de Felice will participate in the discussion “Post-Pandemic Pharmaceutical Challenges” hosted by EOS at Federated Hermes. The panel will be an interactive and engaging solution-orientated discussion to focus on what learnings the pharmaceutical sector can take from the pandemic and how investors can engage with companies and collaborate to create impact. In his remarks, Damiano will discuss:

  • What have been the key barriers to access for the Covid-19 vaccine, how can these be overcome?

  • What has worked well and what learnings can be applied to future access to vaccines programmes?

  • How can we stimulate greater investment and R&D into vaccines and treatments for infectious diseases?

Other speakers on the panel include:

  • Katie Frame, EOS at Federated Hermes (Moderator)

  • Silas Holland, AMR Action Fund

  • Dr Emma Berntman, Engagement, EOS at Federated Hermes

  • Sarah Swartz, Engagement, EOS at Federated Hermes

The full agenda can be found here.

Announced on February 23rd 2021, the Access to Medicine Foundation coordinated an investor statement calling for a fair and equitable global response to the pandemic, including through fully financing the ACT Accelerator partnership dedicated to developing, producing and ensuring equitable access to COVID-19 tools.
